We’ve had a busy time opening parcels and stroking new fabric since last week’s report. We have received some fantastic fabrics from Lecien. The first is a selection of Sweet Broderie by Rosalie Quinlan. We already carry some of Rosalie’s beautiful patterns. So feast your eyes on this lovely cheerful selection.
And if that wasn’t enough loveliness for you, Brenda Riddle of Acorn Quilt & Gift Company has designed Georgia Lou which is soft and scrummy like ice cream. This one is a must have in anyone’s stash.
Next we have Floral Collection – Rose Garden. This selection of romantic roses would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day Project.
Now if you like whimsical fabrics, this one will hit the spot. Lynette Anderson’s Summertime Friends collection is perfect to use with her It’s Quilting Cats & Dogs book.
Have a look at what I found on the selvedge.
Now that the festive season is over and we’re all starting to get back into the groove it’s time to get started on a new project. The Turning Twenty Quilt is just the thing. We have Turning Twenty Bundles cut and ready to take away. The Turning Twenty Quilt is one of our bestsellers. So come on in and have a look at this very popular quilt.
Our book recommendation this month is Home Sweet Sewn by Alice Butcher and Ginny Farquhar. This lovely book has a variety of projects including appliqué, stitchery, heirloom dolls and even a little rag rug making.
We have decided to give our beginners a helping hand. We will be running a Beginner’s Sampler Quilt programme. This workshop will be run two Saturdays a month. As well as learning to piece a sampler quilt we will also cover all the How-Tos from the very beginning. So if you’re a beginner or even a more experience quilt maker and would like to join this workshop, get in touch at 0191 268 8144 soon to avoid disappointment.
We are in the process of scheduling the workshops for the next little while. So come back often and check for the latest news around the shop.
