And the second is High Tea 10th Anniversary again by Ro Gregg.

Just a reminder, Mother’s Day is coming up on April 3rd. Just Quilting offers gift vouchers which makes the perfect Mother’s Day gift. They come in denominations of £10, £20 or £50. So pop in and treat your mum to that perfect gift.

We have received another selection of Painted Wooden Wall Plaques. The artist has added matching table thread stands. They’re going fast so if you have your heart set on one don’t delay. Perhaps Mum would like one to keep her thread or jewellery on. We’re so very spoiled with lovely work from local artists.

Last week we showed you a new fabric collection, A Red Rose by Fabric Freedom. If you haven’t seen it already, Popular Patchwork  MagazineApril 2011 has a pattern which uses this very range. It’s called Red Rose Flag Cushion.

We are waiting on an order of new books and to get the ball rolling here is one of them. This book by Kim Brackett called Scrap-Basket Sensations is absolutely fabulous. The patterns are all based on 2-1/2” strips. So it’s great for using up scraps. If you want a very useable book for spring this is the one for you.

Here at Just Quilting we love vintage things. We love vintage style fabrics but we especially love old sewing machines. Here’s an orphan we recently adopted. It’s an old Singer.

Now we’re really getting excited about Pins & Needles. We’ve had meetings and everyone has their tasks to do. Don’t forget we’re running a workshop each morning at 10:30. So if you’re interested in making the lovely filled heart book now to avoid disappointment.

Check us out again next week to see what’s new around the shop.

Hi, I’ve just picked up a vintage sewing machine like this one. I wonder if you can help, I can’t figure out how to load thread onto the bobbin. I can fit the spool on the from but there’s a gap between the large drive wheel and the small wheel that turns the spool. Any ideas how I engage them?
