Just Quilting offers an extensive range of quality fabrics, fat quarters, kits, buttons, quilting accessories and all haberdashery essentials.
Since opening in 2008, we have provided a friendly, creative and homely environment for quilters to come and socialise, share ideas and learn new techniques at our tuition classes and drop-in sessions.
Professional quilter Carol has many years of experience in quilting and teaching, and is on hand to give advice, fabric suggestions, support and inspiration for new projects.
Our much-loved Just Quilting regulars have taken part in various group projects such as the Timbleberries Block of the Month and a stunning charity quilt.
We invite all quilters, from beginners to seasoned stitchers, to come and join a group, book a tuition class or come by and take a look at the fabrics in store.
New fabrics and accessories are added regularly and we offer a permanent clearance section for hunting out bargains.

Hiya Miss Carol, I spend oodles of time in your shop, it’s the most welcoming crafty place in the North East of England. Your drop-in sessions are full of interesting people with a variety of skill levels which means we all learn something from each other during every session. Your selection of fabric is great and the workshops on all different types of crafts keep us coming back for more. So keep up the good work and you’ll keep drawing the crowds in.
Hi
I came across your site whilst searching for a sewing class in Tyneside. When it comes to sewing I am a total novice but I would like to learn and thought cushion covers might be a good place to start! Do any of your classes cater for total beginners?
Many thanks
Jacqui
Hi Jacqui, thanks for getting in touch. We are able to do classes for complete beginners and are happy to arrange a class for a project that would be of interest to you.
It would be great if you could telephone or drop by the shop so we can discuss what you want to make.
Many thanks,
Carol

I had my first visit to the shop today. I rang first to see when the shop closed and was told 4pm. It was already 4.30pm but the lady said she would wait for us to turn up. Which she did! Now that is good customer service. I spent a happy half hour – and a small amount of money – there and I’ll definitely be back soon.
I have never been to your shop but have heard lots about it from people that I know. I live in Newton Aycliffe and would dearly love to learn about free motion quilting, can you tell the dates and times of any classess that you may have, and most of all how difficult it would be for me to get to the shop. A friend who told me about you has said that she would bring me. I work Tuesday – Friday and have Monday and Saturday off. Can you please help?
