Classes

We offer a programme of weekly classes focusing on a specific project or quilting technique.  Classes are taught by Carol, an accomplished quilter and teacher with many years of sewing and stitching experience.

WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES AT JUST QUILTING


Saturday 19 May – Reversible Bag  £20

A simple, elegant bag.  Mix and match fabrics to get two bags out of one.

Saturday 26 May – Stitchery Roll  £20

Another chance to make this useful stitchery storage roll.  You will need to complete the stitchery in advance of the class. The stitchery pattern will be provided when you book your place on the course.

Saturday 2 June – Jubilee Class  £20

Join us as we celebrate the jubilee festivities.  Projects include a Union Jack pillow and tea-cosy, bunting and lots more.

Saturday 9 June – Free-motion Machine Quilting with Carol Parker  £25

We are very pleased to welcome Carol Parker to Just Quilting.  She will be teaching her own method of quilting using free-form and stencil techniques.  Book quickly as places are limited.

Saturday 16 June & 30 June – The All-ways Bag with Doreen Hann  £20

This class will be in two halves from 12.30 – 4.00pm on both days.

This is a fabulous bag made up of elongated hexagons.  You will also get ideas to make it in many different ways hence,  the All-Ways Bag!

Saturday 23 June - UFO Day

Another chance to catch your breath and finish off a few projects.

Saturday 7 July – Celtic Knot Class with Carol Parker  £25

Carol will be teaching this lovely style using bias-binding appliqué.

Saturday 14 July – Miniature Folded patchwork  £20

Learn this easy technique to create a lovely bag or sewing basket.  This class is a great scrap buster!

Saturday 21 July – Romantic Hearts quilt  £20

Another chance to make this beautiful quilt.  We have changed to format of this to make a quicker project.  Mix and match lovely fabrics to make this unusual quilt using cut-out 3-d hearts.

Wednesday 25 July – Folded Pinwheels  £12.50

This will be a half-day class  9.30 – 1pm.

A new take on traditional pinwheels.  This technique creates a 3-d effect.  A perfect style for small quilts or baby quilts.

Saturday 28 July – Christmas in July  £22

This will be the first of our traditional Christmas workshops.  Join us amongst the decorations, fairy lights, mince pies to make a variety of small projects which are sure to be ready for Christmas.  A popular workshop.  Book early!

Wednesday 1 August – Quilt-As-You-Go   £20

Make two quilts in one.  This method creates a fully reversible quilt. Choose from two different styles.

Saturday 4 August – Beginners Crazy Patchwork   £20

On this class you will make a block in crazy patchwork style.  You will the try out lots of interesting embroidery stitches to embellish your work.

Wednesday 8 August – Beginners Quilt – Split 9-patch  £20

Learn basic quilting techniques to produce a lovely quilt.  This project can be made to any size.  Explore the possibilities of using a simple block to create many effects.

Saturday 11 August – Christmas In August  £22

Another Christmas workshop.  Choose from a variety of small projects.

Wednesday 15 August –  Introduction to Applique  £20

This workshop will introduce you to various styles of appliqué.  We will cover quick appliqué using heat and bond,  freezer-paper method and needleturn appliqué.

Saturday 25 August – Introduction to Stitchery.  £20.

Stitchery is becoming very popular in quilt making.  Learn how to get the best results from your stitcheries.  We will also cover designing your own stitchery.

Saturday 1 September – Beginners Day. £20

A  ‘taster’ day to enable you to try out basic patchwork and quilting techniques.

Saturday 8 September – New York Beauty   £22

Learn the basics of this famous block to create a pillow or develop it into a small quilt.  A good opportunity to use up stash fabrics.

Saturday 15 September – Tipsy Topsy Log- cabin  £22

Forget precision!  These blocks have attitude!  Use lots of colour to make a stunning piece.  This project can be made to any size.

Unit 3, Morgan Business Centre,  Mylord Crescent, Camperdown Industrial Estate, North Tyneside, NE12 5UJ.

A £10 deposit is payable on booking for all courses.  ( £5 deposit for half-day courses and UFO days)

Full day courses -   10am – 4pm

Half day courses -   as indicated on course list

Please bring your own Lunch to class.  Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.

    Hello There!
    I am really interested in quilting and embroidery. I am quite upset i have only just found out about this website, as i would love to do some lessons on quilt making (my first attempt wasn’t good). Do you think i could recieve an email when the next set of classes has been arranged?
