This is our new Class list for Spring/Summer 2015.    Call us at the shop if you need any further information about any of the classes.

Saturday May 23rd.  Holiday Beach Bag.

We welcome Jemma to teach this useful bag.  It is a tote-sized bag with compartments to hold all your holiday items.

Saturday 30th May.  Carpenters Star.

Perfect your Half-square triangles to make this lovely small quilt.  Traditionally this design needs set-in corners, but we have found an easy way.  Make the design complete or add it to a bigger quilt.

Saturday June 6th & Wednesday June 10th.  Crazy Patchwork Workshop.

A class for those who can’t bear to throw anything away!?  Don’t worry you are not alone.  Turn that ‘one day’ into today with our class on Crazy Patchwork.  The days project will be a patched and embroidered piece which will be inset into linen ready to use for whatever project you wish.  Lots of fun using embroidery, embellishments etc.

Saturday 13th June   Night Garden.  (Part 1)

This will be a two-part class.  Part 1 will consist of planning:  including fabric choices, basic techniques for all the components including paper piecing, use of bias bars and various appliqué techniques.  These will be used in this charming piece depicting a moonlight view of a flower garden.  Colour will become your friend in this project.

Part 2 will consist of layout plans and construction of the border.  A certain amount of homework will be required between the classes.   The second part of the class will be arranged at Part 1.

Saturday 20th June.    Introduction to Wedding Ring.

This design is one of the most traditional blocks in Patchwork.  Learn how to tackle this often-feared style.  We will introduce various methods and you will produce blocks to create a small project of your choice.  You can then use your favourite methods to create bigger items.  Perhaps that quilt you have always longed for?

Saturday 27th June.  Paper Piecing.

This is a beginners/intermediate class.   We will introduce beginners projects for those who are new to paper piecing.    If you have done this before try some of our more advanced ideas for beautiful projects.

Wednesday 1st July.   Introduction to Wedding Ring.

See details for Saturday 20th June

Saturday 4th July &  Weds 8th July.    New York Beauty.

It’s just a coincidence that this happens to be Independence Day!  Honestly!  This is one of our favourite quilting blocks.  Using the foundation piecing method, make blocks to use in cushions, bags or even a quilt. A great excuse to get out all those wonderful colours.

Saturday 11th July.    Machine Cover & Mat.

If you leave your machine out when working on a project it will look much nicer with our beautiful machine cover.  The cover will fit all machines and includes a lovely pieced inset.  Match it up to a similar machine mat which will protect your workspace and provide you with pockets to hold those scissors etc which always seem to be out of reach!

Wednesday 15th July.    Sewing Bag.

This is a repeat of a very popular class we did earlier in the year.   This is a cute little bag with gathered sides which open flat.  The inside contains a good selection of pockets to store stitching essentials.

Saturday 18th July.    Drunkards Path and other Curves.

Leave behind your fear of joining curves!   You can work on the traditional Drunkards Path block or create your own design with the clever use of colour.

All workshops are £22 with a £10 deposit payable on booking.  Classes are 10 – 4pm unless stated otherwise.
